Brainstorming Rules

  1. No judgements. To truly think freely you have to remove the judgements, any idea, no matter how boring, no matter how stupid, or off the wall, or impossible, any thought has merit simply for being a thought.

  2. Write down anything that comes to mind, even if you think you’ll never use it, if you thought of it while brainstorming, it counts. Write it down.

  3. Get as many ideas as possible. The more ideas you have the more possibilities you have to explore.

  4. Get other’s input. A friend, family member, coworker or classmate may be able to look at your list and come up with related ideas that you never would have thought of. Invite others into your brainstorm to generate more ideas.
